I'd like the subdirectories for the ftp'd reports to be independent of our website. This is because I'd like to be able to give researchers ftp access to the reports, and each organization might have different ideas about how their data should be accessed and presented. So I'm considering the structure as a way to control access to the information. Each directory should correspond to a class of users who might be given access:

/web (or whatever it is called) would be a place that only web developers would go, and would have the files for http://turtlesense.org once it is moved away from nerdswithoutborders.net.

/nps should be a place where only the national park service would be given access.

/nps/nc/processed might be a read-only repository of files for researchers, etc... Sam (talk) 17:29, 2 July 2014 (EDT)
